About the Author

A bit about me.

I have 3 primary passions:
    • To follow God
    • To serve others- with a focus on youth
    • The outdoors- being in and active in nature
I have many, many hobbies.
    • I enjoy recreational activities such as biking, swimming (and therefore, triathlons) horse-back riding, surfing, rock-climbing, backpacking, hang-gliding, kayaking, rapelling, & rollerblading.
    • I enjoy crafting and art, which usually takes the form of scrapbooking, jewelry making, photography, and a little bit of pottery/sculpting.
    • I enjoy music, in the form of song-writing, dancing, playing my keyboard, and my guitar- not that I'm good at it, mind you. I would love to learn to play the violin.
    • I enjoy traveling. I have been to Peru and Ethiopia. My dream destinations are Israel, Africa (for a safari), Costa Rica, and Venice.
My struggles in life (everyone has some struggles to greater or lesser degrees, right?) include growing up with epilepsy, struggling with the inconsistency of moving around, struggling with not fitting in, and child abuse by my father- my blog does address some of this on occasion.

I am an auntie to 4 awesome kidlets. I thought I made up this word a few years ago, when there were two, but I found it on another blog, so apparently not.

I went to high school at the LA Zoo (my goal then, was to be a wildlife manager on a wildlife reserve in Africa).

I have a BA in Sociology and an MBA in Nonprofit Management. My senior project was "The Effects of the Presence of Natural Elements Among Teens in Inner-City Los Angeles, and my thesis was "Relationship Marketing in Action: The State of Donor Marketing Among Camps in 2012."
My dream (which I've stuck with since 2000) is to become a camp director at a camp that serves youth who have been abused or are dealing with issues of violence. I intend to ultimately start a camp of my own, but that is in God's hands.... ultimately though, I just want to help people.

I love comments. It makes me feel like I'm not just talking to a wall, and rids me of the feeling that this time, I said too much, or said something the wrong way.

(I review your comments first, so if you want to say something just to me, just let me know).
